How to use two different graphics cards?

I want to play the original Splinter Cell games on PC but the my R9 380 is too advanced for a 2002/2004 game and there is therefore shader bugs and issues, however on older machines I've tested the game out and it runs perfectly. Instead of buying a completely different computer running windows XP and an old Dx9.0 GPU for the games, or buying the PS3 HD remakes which have horrible framerates, I'd like to see if I could force the R9 380 to ignore the games and then use a much lower end card to run the games.

Thank you.

you probably have two options:

1 - set up a dual-boot with XP and 7, and use two graphics cards. in each OSes Device Manager, disable the "wrong" graphics card

2 - stay with single OS, and install both cards, and connect both to one monitor that has an input switch. tap the switch to force the system to use one card over the other. you'd need a monitor that has two inputs, of course - like a DVI and an HDMI, for example.

I've downloaded the patches now, but they do nothing. My GPU hardware is simply too advanced, while the CPU doesn't seem to matter. btw, by your recommendation, do you mean there is no way to run 2 graphics cards and force splinter cell to use one?

I might try the dual boot. Never though of that. I guess I'll just buy like a 60GB SSD and install Windows XP along with the games on that + a DX8.0 GPU. Thanks again.
