I have a hp 550-153wb desktop that I recently upgraded the graphic card on. After that I discovered I needed a new psu, so I upgraded that. Well now I discover the DVD drive doesn't use any of the cables that the psu has. Don't know what I need to fix this.

Been searching internet on your model and try to find info/pics on the dvd, most are either sata or molex connectors and you can buy adaptors to change either plug type to the other if needed. most power supplies offer both types. Is there a non standard plug that hp used on their power for them?. Since this is something hard to find an example of online, could you post a clear/ zoomed in picture of the rear of the dvd in question?
If i am right that desktop has a slim- line dvd drive as a laptop has and would have mini sata plugs. if so i think this adaptor would solve it http://www.pccables.com/Mini-Micro_SATA_SLIMLINE_CABLE_DATA_POWER_12-Inch.html
