i have activated windows 7 ultimate 32 bit and want to get 64bit installed, and i got the iso file burnt into a disc, but i'm having trouble booting to it, i have tried going to bios and changing the boot priority, but it doesn't boot to it, just goes right into normal boot. I somehow managed to boot into cd from windows, and by that i mean, that i got into options or something from my normal working 32bit windows, and made it to restart and instantly going to boot cd, but i haven't been able to recreate this, so please help.

Solution

Yes, all you've done is copy the ISO from one location to another. An ISO is essentially a ZIP file, in that it's a single compressed file that contains other files.

Windows can't natively burn an ISO so you need to use a third-party program. If you don't have one already then you can download it; BurnAware works well.

I agree with rmarier83. The disc needs to be made bootable. Some burning software has this option, others don't. Here is just one of many ways to do it. Googling will return many results.
