I am looking to build a gaming pc capable of playing Witcher 3 and Dark Souls 3 on decent settings. I’m interested in the possibility of overclocking, but more as something I would pursue to extend the life of my system when performance starts to drop.

I already have a few parts bought:
Storage - 840 Evo 250GB SSD and WD Green 2TB HDD
Graphics – Asus]https://www.asus.com/uk/Graphics-Cards/STRIXGTX970DC2OC4GD5/]Asus geforce 970 DirectCU II OC Strix[/url]

My remaining budget is around the £500-600 mark, but I’m willing to pay a bit extra for notable upgrades or greatly increased longevity. I'm looking to purchase as soon as possible.

I am also planning on passing my 2009 build to my younger sister as her first desktop pc, and am open to some suggestions for worthwhile upgrades. She’ll mostly be using it for minecraft, schoolwork and drawing on her graphics tablet.

The current build for my sister is as follows:
CPU – i7 920
CUP Cooler - Xigmatek Dark Knight-S1283V 3 Heat Pipe Cooler with 120mm PWM Fan
Motherboard – Gigabyte EX58-UD4P
Memory – OCZ platinum 6gb DDR3.
Graphics – 1gb Sapphire Radeon HD4870
Storage - WD Caviar Black 500GB HD
- Kingston HyperX Fury 240GB
Power supply - Silverstone Zeus ST75ZF 750w
Case – Antec 300

As for you sister's machine, it looks plenty solid for her purposes. To get her through 4 years, I would bump the RAM to 12GB and maybe toss in a bigger storage drive, but that's it.

Cheers!
