How to make an external eGPU dock without an express card slot?

Hi,
I was wondering how to make an external graphics card docking station without opening up my laptop cause I do not have a slot for an Express card. Basically I have seen online and YouTube about how to hook up a gpu to a laptop using one of the contraptions on Ebay or other online stores using the station, a psu, and external display. I have a small monitor that is wallmountable so I can attach it to the docking station if I make a nice wooden enclosure with some fans. I have the power supply and gpu so I was tempted to try it and make my own docking station and enclosure for it. The enclosure would have a handle and a slot/holder compartment to slide my laptop in while it's on. There would be a basement compartment for cables and of course the main compartment would house the gpu slot, psu, and gpu. The laptop will sit on the back of the box and the monitor will go on the front. Then all I'd need are mouse and keyboard and plug it into the wall via an extension cable. However the only flaw with this plan is that I don't have a slot for an express card which the contraption requires. I have seen some express card to usb readers on amazon for a fiver that I could pick up easily and plug into my laptop USB. Would that work if I plug in the gpu dock via express card to usb reader? In theory it should work but I don't know for sure. Does anybody know anything about this?

If it doesn't have the slot, then no. USB is way too slow to run any external graphics other than basic desktop, but not for gaming.

They are making decent external graphics docks, but you need a laptop with the right equipment to do it and that, you don't have.

Thank you! I was holding onto the hope that it might work via USB but I guess not. I will just get some sort of streaming option.

I already have a gaming PC but I want an eGPU for portability and LAN parties.

If your laptop had the right port (it doesn't), once you have done all that stuff you mention...you have killed the portability aspect of the laptop.
