Hi , i wanna upgrade my R9 270x 2GB to a GTX 970 . If my 500W Zalman ZM500-LX could hold the R9 270x can it hold a GTX 970?

Solution
The Zalman ZM500-LX made by Hui Cheng Electronic Technology can run a 970 , it meets the requirements , but the quality is poor.

I would upgrade as soon as possible.

It has 1 - 6 pin and 1 - 6+2 pin PCIE , and 37 amps on the 12v+ rail , so it will run the card , don't trust a poor quality PSU for too long.

It would be minimum power and the quality is not good. It uses cheap capacitors and puts out 444 watts max on the +12volt rail. This is not an ideal situation for a gaming rig with a GTX 970. You should consider upgrading soon.

Zalman... I've heard about that brand only twice.
It appears that it's not even 80 plus rated, although it has 2 pcie-6 pin connectors and the only 3 reviews i found are decent i still would be afraid of putting my 970's life into Zalman's hands.
What are your other specs? How old is the psu?

So I have CPU : Intel Core i5 4690 (non k) but i want to get a i7 4790 because i need it for some streaming (i do youtube)
Mobo: MSI H81M-E33 (don't think it matters that much tho)
HDD: Seagate 1TB
RAM:Forgot the brand , pretty cheap 8GB DDR3 (1 stick)
Case:Zalman Z11 Plus (Very decent case actually)

All components have 1 year old

The bottom line is ^this^. That the Zalman PSU is low quality is a separate issue. If your system has supported a R9 270X, it should have no problem with a GTX970.
I still think you may wish to replace that PSU with a higher-quality one, but the GTX970 may actually be a little easier on it than the R9 270X.
