SLI makes games much worse, not sure why.

I have connected 2 gtx 660 ti's together, and when SLI is enabled, game framerate lags in gameplay and menus. The only troubleshooting I have done is uninstall and reinstall graphics drivers.
Notable Specs: i5 3570k OCed to 3.8. 2 MSI GTX 660 Ti's. ASRock Z77 Extreme4 for MoBo. 2 8 GB Corsair XMS3 ram sticks.

What is the make and model, of your power supply? If it is not a quality unit, of sufficient wattage, it can cause you not to able to fully power two cards.

CX series in general is not good. I would be looking to replace that when possible, to a tier 1 or 2 unit. http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html

I understand it's a low end model, but it's hard to believe that it's causing the problem. My friend was using the same model PSU for his rig which had two 970's.. And it ran fine. I will do some testing to make sure the other card works fine solo. Thanks for the advice
