I'm relatively new to the PC building scene and built my first gaming PC last year on a limited budget. I am currently deciding what my options are for an alternative GPU and whether to go through with it or not.

Right now I have a Sapphire Radeon R7 260X which I can play Battlefront at 60 FPS with custom settings (mix of High and Medium settings).

Here's my setup.

PSU: 430W Corsair CX430
CPU: AMD Athlon X4 760K
Motherboard: MSI A78M-E35
RAM: 8GB Crucial Ballistix Sport

I'm looking to see what GPUs I can upgrade to so I can play modern games on High / Ultra settings like Battlefront at 60 FPS; as of right now I am not limited by a budget.

If you say "not limited by a budget" you need to change the CPU, motherboard and...

I"m pretty sure the people at Fry's wouldn't lie to me, but my phenom ii x6 1055t is currently bottlenecking my R7 360 gpu. So that's kinda the issue if you wanna upgrade your gpu, because your cpu is about the same speed as mine, its gonna bottleneck.

A gtx 970 will probably not get you 60 fps on ultra, so if you want to really upgrade and play newest games ultra 60fps + get a new CPU, GPU I would get a 970-980ti (980ti is the best) if you need AMD then go with r9 390. Grab an i7 4790k or an i5 6600k. then a new psu EVGA Supernoga g2/p2/gs 550w

If you say "not limited by a budget" you need to change the CPU, motherboard and power supply and the video card to get to play higher end games at high FPS, not just a new video card.

To keep the same RAM and save another $50 or 60, you can get a last generation Intel i5 1150 chip. Aside from that, just upgrading the video card won't help you too much. All you need to do is look up some benchmarks for the games you want for your CPU and you'll see how much it will limit you in those games.
