I have 2 hard disks which have the same problem( I bought one of them new because I thought the other drive is broken) in the same system. The computer was working fine for 4 years until suddenly my hard drive started to hang and my computer froze sometimes for more than 1-2 minutes, I reinstalled windows 2-3 times but the same problem occured. After 2-3 months my partition became corrupted and I just formatted the hard and used it again with the same problem, after this I bought new hard drive and it started to hang in the same manner so I removed it and I used the old hard drive since I dont think the problem is from the hard disk anymore. What do you think can cause this?

Hi there nadalbg,

There is a chance that the drives are failing.
So, you need to start with just backing up the data stored on both drives.

After that, you can just test them with one of these: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/282651-32-best-diagnostic-testing-utility
Look for current/reallocated/uncorrectable sectors.

It will not hurt to attach the drive with different cables(both SATA and power ones) to another SATA port.

Let me know how this goes,
