can a 4 pin (from the power supply) work in a 8 pin motherboard: MSI 970A SLI Krait Edition (motherboard) with an AMD FX-8350.

power supply is 450 watt.

Yes, look in the manual it will say what side of the 8pin to put it in, probably left. What power supply do you have and what are the rest of your specs? Are you sure you have enough power?

{it is not for a really long time because i am gonna buy a game pc pice by piece but i have an older pc with that 450 watt power, so thats why i want to know if it will be posible.}

Do you know what make and model the 450watt power supply is? I wouldn't hook up some old generic power supply to a brand new pc with a fx 8350 in it and depending on the graphics card you use it may not be enough power. If the power supply is very low quality it could damage everything you have connected to it if it decides to die and it is much more likely to die if you are pushing it over or close to its 450watt max.

, i will get a new power supply because i really do think its to old (about 6/8 years or so) (but i am 14 years old, so i i will buy an power supply (i have already choosen: Sharkoon WPM500 Bronze) so yeah thanks for your help!

otherwise i maybe would have destroyed my 91,00 euro motherboard!
