Hi,

I decided to upgrade the RAM on my pc and did a bit of research as to the compatibility and all. I have never really modified any pc components before but how hard can replacing a RAM really be right?
I started buy buying one RAM only to find out my motherboard supports dual channel memory(which means I need two identical RAM's for it to work I think) so I bought a second one.

This is the ram I bought ---> RAM
I received the second RAM only to notice that it is not physically identical to the first one. It seems to have the same spec's yet it is about half the size.

First RAM -----> Here
Second RAM -----> Here

I install them, they fall right into place yet when I start my pc the power goes on and nothing appears in my screen.
As soon as I put back my original 2x 2gb ram sticks, it boots up normally. What have I missed exactly?
My motherboard is an Asus P5E3 PRO

Solution
The height isn't important, but do they have 8 or 16 chips (8 on each side)? If only 8, then they are high density and not compatible with older chipsets.
