Is uninstalling drivers before updating your gpu safe?

I don't know much about computers nor how drivers work. Does uninstalling old drivers before an update allow the gpu to function?

I all ways uninstall drivers when I change out cards good practice in my opinion

uninstall driver - remove card - add new card - reinstall drivers

if just updating the driver its best to uninstall


down load new driver and save it -- uninstall old driver - follow prompts [may need to reboot] - start back up to desktop card should be on windows standard vga default driver - if so then go to new driver you downloaded and run it to install - follow prompts
