I have put linux on 2 different usb devices. One is a USB disk drive, and i put linux on a cd. The other is a usb hard drive dock, in which i put a usb hard drive. Whenever I try to boot from either of these devices, i get the windows boot manager saying thee boot media was not found. My bios is set to ufei/legacy. How do I get past the windows boot manager to get to grub? Is there something wrong with my bios settings, or is there something wrong with both my usb boot medias?

Solution
If you have UEFI instead of the legacy BIOS, you need to turn off Secure Boot. You may also need other settings there. Check your user guide.
