Mobile Phones wont get detected by laptop

Hello guys, I am experiencing a problem with my laptop recognizing the mobile phones connected . It wont show up in device manager or file explorer. I reinstalled windows also all the drivers. phone is being detected by other laptops and also cables are working good. The usb ports work great for other peripherals like ext. hdd or input devices. anyone who can help me here?

what phone may i ask? and laptop? sometimes on phones there is prompts to connect to your computer as well, not sure if youve checked that already.

its a s6 but i tried with s3, nexus 5, opo notification for mtp doesnt come when connected to my laptop but works fine with other laptops and i have a hp envy laptop.

i went through a similair situation when rooting with my nexus 7 tablet, might have to manually download the correct driver for your s7 and manually update it in device manager. youll also want to delete all; history of drivers for that device if i remember correctly when trying this with adb.

wait for someone on here with a bit more experience to answer tho this is beyond my limited knowledge. sorry!

you may want to try hp's support forums as well as maybe goign on xda dev's site and searching for users with a similair issue. however im sure someone on here can help

Hi, sometimes you have to have the phone unlocked for it to be recognised by the computer. You probably have already done this but sometimes you could forget. Sorry for pointing out the obvious but sometimes someone has too. Hope I have helped.
