Hello to All

I have started a new build with an Asus x99-E WS USB 3.1
Intel Xeon E5-2695 v3 cpu
PSU - Seasonic model ss-550ht active PFC F3 ( this means nothing to me)
Ram - Kingston kvr21r15s4/8 x 4(8gb sticks)
GPU - AMD Firepro W4100

After having installed all of the components the computer will not boot up, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have come to the conclusion I have a faulty motherboard or faulty CPU, this is where i get stuck as i do not have a second of either to test

I have tested 3 different psu all yielding the same result
I have tested 3 different gpu with the same result
I have tested 4 different ram modules all with the same result

The motherboard manual says there is a CPU led, this turn on blinks once and stays on.
There is a Qcode logger display on the motherboard this displays 00 and does not change
The cmos has been reset

Does the CPU led staying on mean my cpu has failed?

I have removed the ram and gpu only to get the same result no beeps, no Qcode and the cpu led stays on.

Or the fact that the motherboard does not display different results with different components removed mean the motherboard is faulty.

Any assistance would be appreciated

Thanks
Zoran

Yes the 24 pin is connected there are 2, 8 pin connectors, I have tried connecting to both connectors, no difference to the result, yes the cpu fan is spinning, all fans are spinning

I am in Melbourne Australia, I have contacted Asus, because I figured this was going to be a warranty issue, luckily they have a service centre here in Victoria, so I gave them a call, thinking I will turn up there in the morning and they will resolve this, however after calling them I was transferred to the Philippines, they have given me some fault finding issues and if that fails to contact the place of purchase for warranty and testing and if that fails to contact Asus direct for RMA of the board.

I was hoping that i have missed something simple, that may fix all of this

Then board, or CPU does not wok. Try removing the CPU and check the socket. See if bent pins.

Thank you for your assistance alexoiu

The CPU has been removed and re seated all pins look good on CPU and both on motherboard, nothing appears to be out of the ordinary with the CPU or motherboard with regard to any pins.

What concerns me is in the motherboard Manuel it talks about a CPU led, so if the led does not go out that indicates a CPU fault. But then if the mother board is faulty why should we listen to the led. The mother board has not responded differently after removing ram and re boot and after removing gpu and re boot. I am inclined to think there is a fault with motherboard.

I read one person returned 5 motherboards of this type and all with faults.
I am beginning to think I bought a dud motherboard but an expensive dud.

". The mother board has not responded differently after removing ram and re boot and after removing gpu and re boot."
When starting, the CPU is tested firstly and, if not responding, you get the red CPU LED and 00 as Q-code. Therefore RAMs or GPU don't matter.
It's board, or CPU, or power supply. Are board and CPU new? If yes, I'd RMA them both.

What RAM are you using? Are you using DDR4 2133 ECC ... I'll repeat the important one, ECC ... you are using a Xeon ... must use ECC. i7 can use non ECC and be overclocked, you CANNOT do this with Xeon. Don't take this as total gospel, but, look at footnote 2 ...
#2: 8x DIMM max 128gb, ddr4 2133/1866 MHz ECC, In-buffered, Register Memory

SO ... ECC RDIMM (registered), for Xeon, is what that manual calls for.

If you run i7 you can O/C use Non-ECC 3200, 3000, 32800, 2666, 2400, 2133 ... but NOT with Xeon ... at least the way I read it. Hope this helps.

I have this mother board - friend could not get it running so I finally pulled it out, bought everything, would not start ... found that info, ECC memory will be here tomorrow or next day.
