Hello. Like the title says... I just bought a wireless mouse and it doesn't work, the mouse turns on but the pointer won't move neither right/left click. I tried a similar mouse and it worked. This is a hama AM-7701. What should I do?

Solution
Could be just a matter of the reflectivity from the desktop to the receptor on the mouse.

Desktop reflects enough light for the sensor to respond. Not so on the mouse pad(s). Should not be that way - something is not right.

It could be broken but perhaps just an intermittent connection that comes and goes. I would return the mouse.

It is correctly and fully plugged in and I tried on my laptop and still doesn't work. My OS Is up to date. But now the mouse responds but moves very slowly and barely takes commands. I made sure it is clean and there is no dust on the optic glass but still..

That's progress of a sort. Any sensitivity change via another surface?

Also, I know you changed batteries; however, I would try another fresh, known working set of batteries.

Especially if the batteries you installed were in storage (even if in a refrigerator) for awhile.

So I fixed it. I kept uninstalling the driver and reinstalling it and somehow it works. But now it won't move on any surface except the desk without mousepad. I tried several mousepads but still nothing. Could it really be broken?
