hello
i started to get some black screen during gaming, but very rarely.
today i installed some cpu stress test tool and furmark
launched both of them and started gpu test, and after that cpu test, and got black screen! i had to manualy force shut down from psu, computer was frozen!
also i tried setting the fans on gpu and cpu to max and tried again. and i noticed something strange. when i started furmark my fan decreased his speed from 100% to.. (by ear) i think 70% !
anyway,so i launched again cpu test ,and again black screen.
if i try to stress test cpu or gpu separately, all works good.
i dont think its a gpu,i had a diferent video card and still had this rarely
also the video card in idle has 30-35°C,during gameplay 70-80°C
the cpu in idle 27-35°C during gameplay 40-50°C (using hyper evo 212)
so all temps are good.
could this be a psu problem ?

CPU: AMD FX-8320
GPU: Sapphire Radeon R9 270x 4GB 256 bits
Motherboard: ASRock 980de3/u3s3
PSU: Energon EPS-550W

Overclocking, sorry typo mistake.

EDIT: looking this : http://www.inter-tech.de/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=616%3Aenergon-eps-550w&catid=125%3Aausland-atx-netzteile&Itemid=543&lang=en, i think your PSU can't handle the system.

What does this mean, are you talking about bronze, silver, gold etc?

These have nothing to do with quality, only efficiency. It so happens that quality PSU's will tend to be efficient, but you can make an efficient PSU that is poor quality at rated power levels.

But yes the PSU is likely very poor.

thank you! ill get the Antec HCG-520, 520W
is 520w enough ? :/ (1 ssd,1 hdd,1 dvd-rw,2 extra fans on case)

It's been a while since I've read a review on that Antec, so I'd have to see the rail distribution and everything to be able to put any input into that. But I know it's good quality. Though I wish I could, my brain can only memorize so many PSUs that I have to resort to Googling reviews sometimes before giving definite answers on these things.

Let's see, single 12V rail. Hardwaresecrets overload test shows that the 12V rail can draw a maximum of 528W, so about spot on with the rated wattage. http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/antec-high-current-gamer-520-w-power-supply-review/9/

With two 270X, hmm... I think it could work under the right conditions[strike], but I wouldn't do it.[/strike]

Edit: Well, depends on his 270X. A reference 270X on Furmark is only like 85W, so Crossfire would be fine. Then again, aftermarket cards can consume a lot more power. Even if two cards were 300W combined, his PSU would be sufficient, so I think he could Crossfire. Yeah definitely I think two 270X would be fine.

To be clear i'm just suggesting no crossfire as a future constraint, it's not been suggested. Was going to pop these two onto the tier thread, glad you stopped by.
