I have this computer:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883220400
I'm looking to upgrade this pc (budget around $300) to a gaming computer(so it can run games like fallout 4) Surprisingly my weak APU can run fallout 4 at 25-30 fps on extremely low settings.
I'm thinking of getting a GTX 970 and a new power supply for it.
My question is: Will my CPU create a bottleneck so bad that there will be no point in buying a high end GPU like the gtx 970.
If the bottleneck isn't that bad, which Brand/Model of the gtx 970 is best for my scenario if that's even applicable-and will the gtx 970 fit in my case?
Also do I need a cooler or new fan? (everything is stock right now)
Would I have to replace the motherboard, if I eventually replace the CPU? (I believe it's FM2)
When I upgrade it to an i-5.(don't have the money right now)

Thank you for your time

You'll see performance improvements over the integrated GPU in ALL games, but in a fair percentage of games, a GTX970 will be limited by your CPU.

I'd say it's a worthwhile upgrade but you're going to need to replace the platform sooner or later. When you do upgrade, you'll need either motherboard + CPU if you go Haswell, and you can reuse your RAM, or you'll need motherboard + CPU + RAM if you upgrade to Skylake or newer.

It is worth upgrading the gpu. Sure you will lose fps due to a cpu bottleneck, but I don't expect the bottleneck to be that much worse than the 860k. The link shows how many fps a high end card loses with a lame cpu compared to a high end cpu.The 970 will make all games run at playable fps, that is worth the money. You can always upgrade the motherboard and cpu then put your 970 back in it.
