Sorry I'm having a hard time phrasing my question.

Long story short, I am looking to use my gaming desktop while located in a room downstairs but wondering about how I can overcome the expected input lag.

Given their distance of separation, a wireless solution is the most preferred choice but I am willing to take some drastic measures to allow a wired solution if the wireless solutions do not inspire enough confidence.

Are trying to setup Steam in-house streaming?

In order of ascending latency: Wired lan (ethernet), powerline adapter (depends on wiring), wifi.

1. If your wifi is already set up, try pinging your gaming pc from downstairs and the measure the bandwidth (throughput) also.

2. See if you can borrow a pair of powerline adapters to test it.
