I was wondering if this would. I bought the computer the other day and was wondering if I could place in a GPU. So I went out and bought an Asus ATI Radeon HD6450. I have a 240 watt PSU with 4 gb's of ram and a 320gb hard drive. Could I add it?
The power requirements I found listed for it may be higher than what you need. If your motherboard has a X16 PCIe slot you could try it but the power supply you have is not designed to take any big load.
Should I give it a try and see if it would work? I mean I don't wanna ruin the computer can't afford another one currently.
If it puts too much load it will probably just shut off. There's no guarantee. Like I said, that little power supply is not made to power a gaming card.
Could I take out the DVD drive and put the hard-drive near there and place a better PSU in it?
No, the PSU needs to mount in the correct spot. Also, if you have the little slim case then the PSU probably is not upgradeable due to it being a small custom size. Trying to upgrade a slim case HP business pc is a losing battle. It's just not made to do the stuff you want to do with it.
It's like I thought. Can't upgrade it with a store bought PSU. Sorry to give you bad news but that's how it is. You could try searching Ebay for the same model in higher watts but I don't know if one even exists in higher power.
