What is the difference between different brands' GPU's cooling (like Strix, ACX..)?

I've been looking from different forums that what's the difference between different coolings on GPUs (like Strix [Asus], ACX [EVGA] and so on..), but none of them has fixed my knowledge.

The different manufacturers all have there own designs, can generally read up on them at the manufacturers websites. Can saty the Strix is very good, have a pair of the 980s in SLI on a Z97 and running a 980Ti on my Z170
