Hey People,

I'd like to build a new gaming pc that is reasonably small and quiet, yet still packs a punch. I don't really have a budget.

I came up with two cases for this:
1.
case: Fractal Design Core 500 (with two additional fans on top)
videocard: Gigabyte GTX 980 4GB (3 fan WindForce cooling system)
cpucooler: Noctua NH-D14
cpu: intel i5 6600K
ssd: samsung 850 EVO 500Gb
memory: HyperX Fury 16GB 2133Mhz CL14
Motherboard: AsRock Z170M-ITX
PSU: EVGA Supernova 650 GS

2.
case: Fractal Design Define Nano S (with one/two additonal fan in front or front-bottom, to assist the videocard with fresh air)
videocard: MSI V317-005R NVIDIA GeForce GTX980 4GD5 OCV1 (Blower style graphics card)
And the rest is the same

So, the question is: which one is quieter?

I ended up with Fractal Design's cases because their filters look super useful, and I am slightly preferring the Nano, because of the sound dampening. Oh but in the Nano, airflow is slightly worse (seems worse) for the graphics card: the PSU is in the way. So that's the reason for a blower style gtx. Maybe I should just go with the gigabyte there as well.

I'm open to use other cases, I just can't seem to find anything that is compact and meant to be quiet. Or at least quieter. I might switch to a Fractal Design Define Mini for this, (though that's mATX), since I couldn't find a Nano S on any website for some reason.

Other than this, I don't know if the 980 makes sense (initially, I wanted to go with the 970 gtx. However, I'm considering to buy a 4k monitor later and maybe see what VR offers as well.. For now it's just 1080p gaming.)
