I got the Corsair 400c that, while beautiful, can't hold 3 3.5" drives. Are there any 2.5" to 3.5" adapters as wierd as it may sound, I could really use one.

There are adapters to put a 2.5" drive in a 3.5" space.
It seems you are looking for the other way around?

Is a physical space limitation, how would any adapter SHRINK a 3.5" into a 2.5" space?
Now if there are indeed space but you have been constrained by a smallish CAGE, then perhaps the cage can be modified. Yes I'm talking saw, drill, hammer... PC building level II.

On the other hand, I suppose i could just lay the hard drive down where there is some free space

A spinning HDD really needs to be screwed in. Vibration, etc.

I hung it in an open space in the middle of my case using cloth velcro cable ties. Looks like they don't make it anymore, but in the related products there are 4 in 3 and 3 in 2 (3 drives in the space of 2) adapters.
