So I plan on purchasing and installing a fresh copy of windows on a SSD soon and was going to wipe my 1tb Seagate 7200rpm drive and just reuse it for mass storage (It currently houses all my files and OS). And I was wondering if I would experience a performance drop or increase failure chance if I wiped the drive clean before reusing it for just mass storage, and the best way to go about doing so. Thanks in advance.

if you dont want any of the files on the drive then when you boot from windows 10 installer go into advance mode. remove the partion on the hard drive. remake it and then format the drive. on the ssd do nothing in advance mode other then seleting it for windows to install on the ssd.

Will this remove the old files to make it as if the HDD was blank?
