- Better CPU cooler.
- Added high quality thermal paste.
- Switched PSU to 850W top end one to allow for comfortable Crossfire/SLI.
- Switched SSD to cheaper alternative (cheaper only in price, 850 Evos are overpriced).
- Switched to Fury X as it performs better with DX12
I think that it is a solid setup too. As Gingerbread pointed out, the EVGA G2 power supplies are much better than the GS units. I would also go for DDR4 2666 speed memory. You are all set to overclock the CPU, so why use slow ass memory with it?
Same as whether you're running 3.6Ghz or 4.5GHz i5 cpu.
CPU clocks can affect performance but not always. For example Witcher 3 will not really benefit from CPU overclocking (assuming it's not bottlenecking the GPU), and GTA V will only benefit to the point where the GPU becomes the bottleneck. RAM on the other hand has been tested again and again and proven not to affect performance in games at all.
