Desktop shutdown Blue screen error

My son just built a desktop, while playing games his system keeps shutting down after about 20 minutes
getting a blue screen. It doesn't shut down while using other programs like Skype YouTube
Could anyone help how I can pinpoint what the problem would be & how to fix.

need to check gpu load fan speed and gpu core temps. The manufacturer of the gpu may have a free utility to download, or there are free programs will work as well, I use gpu-z. Otherwise its difficult to say whats going on as windows apps like task manager don't report the gpu's performance levels.
