No, you need a high quality 750w. Wattage on it's own is meaningless, quality of the unit is equally important

If its a high quality unit and you plan on little to no overclocking it can work. Mousemonkey runs 2 970s on a 620w psu. I personally woyld reccomended 750w for the headroom.

Running a PSU at near max is asking for trouble in my opinion, it's the one component you don't want at 100%. I'd always recommend headroom.

I know that my OC'd 3570k + GTX970 pulls 350W from the wall (or thereabouts), so maybe 300-325 output from the PSU (it's output that counts not input), even if 200W (a 145W card) of that is GPU then adding a second only gets you to 500-525W. That is getting too close for comfort in my opinion, I'm in a similar posiition, with a G650 seasonic, so it's good enough, but given a spike in power draw and you'll have issues.
