Hey guys! Thanks for taking time out of your day to help me :)

Here's my info:

Approximate purchase date: May 2016
Budget Range: 3000 dollars (20.000 dkk), but preferrably less
System usage from Most to Least important: VR-gaming, Music production (Pro Tools, Cubase, Studio one), watching movies in VR, gaming, surfing
Are you buying a monitor? Yes and no - i'm buying the HTC vive, which definitely counts as a monitor, but i also have a standard monitor setup which runs at 2 x 1440p
Parts to Upgrade: Everything
Do you need to buy OS: No, i have Windows 10
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: www.edbpriser.dk
Location: Lyngby, postal code 2800 (close to Copenhagen)
Overclocking: No
SLI or Crossfire: No
Your Monitor Resolution: HTC vive: 2160 x 1200, standard monitor: 1 x 1440p
Additional Comments: I'd like to future proof the thing so that i can hopefully still play new VR games in 1-2 years time. Also, since i'm doing sound productions, i'll be using external audio cards which means that internal audio systems/whatever isn't crucial. Also i have all peripherals (mouse, keyboard, speakers, monitors etc.)
And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: I want VR.

I've looked at the following stuff so far:

ASUS Z170 PRO GAMING

Solution
get a bigger PSu 800+ and you may need to SLI.
980ti is ok, might not be enough though, wait for pascal if you can?
get a i7, with all of those other key process (head tracking etc,) going on you'll need the extra threads (i anticipate co processors for this in the next 2-3 years)
wasn't the BX100 a bit of a poor drive, samsung evo would be better

I'd wait for the full reviews on vive first.

17 case fans and $223 spent on them? Are you kidding me? What case would be able to hold that many fans and what PSU would be able to power them? :pfff:

OP - that build looks good. I would make a few suggestions on parts though:

- Core i7-6700K: http://www.edbpriser.dk/processor/core-i7-i7-6700k-4-ghz-intel-boxed-id-11119033.aspx?q=core+i7+6700k
- Samsung 850 Evo: http://www.edbpriser.dk/ssd-solid-state-drive/samsung-850-evo-mz-75e250-250-gb-id-9025412.aspx?q=samsung+850+evo
- Noctua NH-U9S: http://www.edbpriser.dk/processorkoeling/noctua-nh-u9s-id-9054656.aspx?q=noctua
- EVGA G2: http://www.edbpriser.dk/stroemforsyning/evga-supernova-750-g2-id-8224808.aspx

Those are just some small changes that won't break the budget at all but will give you better components.

It was late and I saw a lot of budget left. It would be some bragging rights but that's about it.

@TheMaster: I don't think that case can hold that many fans...

Yes I know, and according to that, I chose the configuration with the highest possible amount of fans?

The way I interpreted it was that since on top they clarify that it is 2x120 or 2x140, since they don't say that on the sides it meant that the 2x140 + 2x120 was possible on the side. :p Maybe they should've made a clearer graphic..
EDIT: forgot to mention, it was stated that I put 17 fans, if you actually count them, it's 16.
