dye ink on pigmented ink based printer canon maxify mb2340

i have maxify mb2340 that uses all pigmented inks 4 cartridges as i have reasearched on internet, can i use dye ink on this printer , because of cheaper cost and vibrant colors, or can i use pigmented black and dye colors. Or should i buy pigmented only, i have a good deal from china, but its not manufacturers authentic ,, and i am worried if it damages the printer , what do u think i should do, any suggestions is appreciated.

I would use dye for the colors, but pigment for black if your printer can handle both. It looks the best over a variety of paper types.
If you're going to be using this for photo work, and you use a combination of dye and pigment, make sure to use UV protective glass when you frame the print.

We need more information. What do you use the printouts for? If you are looking for archival, or something to display on a wall stay with pigment inks (good quality ones, in the past some Chinese vendors have passed off dye inks for pigment inks). If you are only using for day to day printing any ink is fine but you may get different results if you switch to dye inks. They are less viscous and more intense and some printers will dispense too much and really darken your images or over saturate your paper.

Thanks aragorn for the reply, i just need it for daily prints , home use, my concern is imy printers original cartrudges are pigmented inks so if i use dye inks instead of pigmented , or black pigmented and others dye, would they cause any problem to the printer. And also can i refill these empty pigmented ink cartridges with dye ink ones or i have to buy the refill ink tanks..
Too many questions sorry , just need some professional's suggestions because in my area no one knows about these things

Quill.com is not working for me, there are good sites but for me others are giving very expensive shipping rate, so i have to stick with aliexpress, i am decidin to buy the refillable ink tanks and colored dye and black pigmented ink. Can you share what you bought from alibaba and what bad happened along with the model of your printer

Hahahaha i just bought this printer a month back . Its a good printer for me gives a lot of features i need at home.
Just worried that i dont damage it . Buying original cartridges is like buying a new printer so inneed to take the risk.

I have had to replace 1 of the 4 carts, the Black. $45.

Doing 5,000 pages through an inkjet, I would have gone broke.
And I've had many inkjets. Tried various 3rd party ink solutions. CIS, refilling...none of them really worked well.

When this Canon dies from using the wrong ink, consider a color laser.
(not saying it will die, but chances are better than original ink)

Thats amazing ,, wish i knew about this before but the features this printer gives me will be alot expensive in laser and i need may be 5 to 8 hundred pages an year . So not much printing

I don't think it was edible ink... it was more like water with a little bit of alcohol with some food coloring. It was pale, watery, smelly and really bled on paper. I suspect it was someone trying to make a quick buck. I don't know how much the company spent on it, but at least it would never clog the print heads.

I bought an $80 Samsung color laser printer CLP-300, and it's used once a month or so now. my teenage daughters used it for school lots and the toner is cheap. I've never had to replace the drum in 6 years

The pigment normally apply on Black Ink and it got waterproof on paper and price is slightly expensive than the dye.
