Windows Update Failure

I have been coming across an interesting problem once again. Recently when we load new versions of Windows 7 the updates never seem to work. Has something new happened to where new versions of 7 no longer get updates or is there something I am missing?

Windows update on Vista and 7 takes forever and a day to run when you need a lot of updates, like in your situation. I just restored a PC from a year old computer with Windows 7, started Windows Update, and after an hour and a half, it's STILL running! I don't remember it ever taking this long, but that's the way it is unfortunately. :-(

Mostly when we try it we are told windows update has failed after about 30 min to an hour. Every so often our updates server will find the machine over night. This has happened on about five fresh installs this year already.
