Heatsink fans still running even after shutdown

My PC randomly reboots while doing any task. When the PC is shut down, the CPU and graphic card fans still keep on running. I searched the forum for solutions. I updated my Motherboard BIOS to the latest version, I tried clearing the CMOS settings by removing the battery and pressing and holding the power button for more than 30 seconds, still no solution to the problem. I suspect either the PSU or Motherboard to be the problem. Please help me out.

AMD FX 8320
ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0
AMD RADEON HD 6670 GRAPHICS CARD
4GB CORSAIR VENGEANCE
2 160GB SATA HDD
500W PSU

Define any task. Is it CPU intensive or GPU intensive task? Does it reboot when you are not using anything GPU intensive?

Sounds like a PSU problem, to be honest then. Do you have another at hand, also what is your full PSU model?

I don't have another PSU to check whether the PSU is at fault. I have given the motherboard at the service center. I'll receive the report for the same by tomorrow. The brand of the PSU is Amacrox

Got the motherboard from the service cenrer yesterday. The problem still exist. You are right, its the power supply unit which is causing the problem. I'm thinking of ordering the Corsair VS550 PSU. What do you suggest?

Amacrox sounds very suspicious. What seems to be happening is your PC never really shuts down. What seems to be happening is that the PS_ON message is not being sent to the PSU from the motherboard. This is an electronic message indicating to shut off the PC. I don't recommend the Corsair VS.

I got the motherboard replaced from the service center. Do you still think its the motherboard causing the problem?
