I've recently upgraded to an i5 4690 but not It seems in games that my 2gb r9 270x is holding my computer back in games. Is there a graphics card that can push over 60 fps on high/very high settings in newer games like Division, Rainbow Six Siege, and Fallout 4?

Solution
Nvidia and amd might coming out with sub 400-500 first so it might not going to affect sub 250 pricing segment. For example even if nvidia drop 970 price it might not be any lower than 300. That's just how nvidia roll. For amd it might be possible 390 to get as low as 280 or even 250 but i can't guarantee that. Because more than often amd have more issue to clear their old stock when they coming out new series so they always end up with price cut.

spend another $50 to give you $300 total and get a 970. Also in roughyl 4-6 weeks pascal may be on the shelves. However my wife and I game every night on division and she runs a GTX evga 970 superclocked and it runs division without a single problem. Looks great too on her 27 inch asus 144hz monitor

If you can wait 3 more months, you'll have the option to choose from finfet gpus too. Nvidia hasn't said anything about price but AMD recently said they want to keep VR level graphics card affordable, aka 290 level.

Personally i don't think what amd going to do will differ much from nvidia. The first rounds of cards will be sub 500-400. They did say want to release affordable card for VR but it doesn't mean they will release them on the get go when polaris arrive. Also if i remember correctly AMD said that they want to drop VR capable gpu minimum requirement down to 350 mark not specifically mention 290. Hence when AMD said that many actually quastion if that's going to be any different than it is now because the minimum for VR is 970/390 which have MSRP much lower than that at launch.

I think I'm just going to wait until I have enough for the 970/290/390 or a bit after pascal releases. I already have fallout 4 and can run it pretty well with just medium high settings so I think this graphics card can suffice for a bit longer. Thanks for all the responses!
