can a fx-8320 handle an oculus rift

i tested my system with the oculus compatibility check tool and it told me that my fx-8320 oc'd at 4.5ghz (hyper 212 evo) cant handle it is it true because it doesn't mention an amd reccomended cpu at the specs

theres a rift review on the main page--its pretty long so i only flicked through it

but think it said minimum requirements are really minimum requirements with little or no flexibility unlike some games where you can get away with below the minimum specs

Says "i5-4690 or equivalent", but on the same page they state that AMD says an FX-8350 can handle it.

An FX-8320 is just shy of the 8350 in performance, so it will probably be OK, especially since you've OC'd it past the 8350's level.

VR requires very high framerates, and AMD processors have trouble delivering that due to their poor single threaded performance. For a lot of games you're going to have a hard time staying above 90FPS regardless of what GPU you have, even with your CPU overclocked. Future games with DirectX 12 support might improve things for the current AMD offerings by spreading out the driver overhead and not restricting the draw calls to a single master thread which is where the AMD processors get really bogged down. As it stands now with DirectX 11 titles, you're probably out of luck unless the game you are playing is very light on the CPU.

in any task that uses 8 cores, yes
In tasks that dont use 8 cores, no
SO im sure games like BF4 would run fine, but you need a high fps unless you want motion sickness from using it for a long time
