Hello everyone, after many years without any desktop, I finally purchased a used, decent system. It dates back to 2012, but it still looks great.

Intel Core processor I5 2320 (quad core)
AMD Radeon HD 7350 1024 mb
8 gb ddr3 (2x4, 2 slots available, for a max of 16 gb)
1 TB hard drive
PSU: LiteOn 300w

I now want to upgrade the graphics card and I figured I might as well make it worth my while.
I'm looking for at least 2 gb, but mostly, my requirement is that it needs to support the latest Direct X 3D.

I'm aware that the PSU is weak and will also need to be upgraded.
Later on, I intend to add SSD drive(s), so maybe take that into account to determine the watts.

This motherboard can accommodate 8 more gb of RAM (I'd like to get 2x4, to keep it even).

Suggestions/comments/advice to improve the overall performance of this system?

You can use any GPU with any type of RAM, it's completely separate from your systems RAM.

GPU wise a 950/960 380/380x will be a huge upgrade. You can also go to the next tier 970/390 as long as you get a quality 600/650w PSU.

I got it for $400 (it also included two 1080 monitors and a wireless keyboard/mouse combo).

Any specific reason why you recommend these two components?
