i am thinking about getting an AMD FX-4350 Vishera Quad-Core 4.2 GHz, but am having trouble deciding what graphics card i should use. I was looking at AMD R9's but then started wondering if my CPU could handle GDDR 5. I couldnt find what type of memory was supported by my CPU so i need some help.

Solution
The compatible memory you are thinking of is for ram, not graphics card memory. Any gpu that fits in your motherboard slot will work, so there will be no compatibility issues with the r9 series.

Cpu's use RAM, GPUs use Vram. The GDDR5 is a type of memory that typically GPU's use for Vram (PS4 system is an exception but it is a console). Your CPU uses DDR3 memory. I wouldn't get much more than a Nvidia 750Ti or AMD R7-360 for a cpu like yours because anything more your cpu will bottleneck IMO..

^ agree, however you can overclock them to still get the performance you want out of them. 6100 @ 4.2 air & an r7 370 OC 4gb is still going strong.
That being said, I don't know how much longer this is going to be going strong for. I'm trying to hold out for AMD Zen. Might not make it. I also don't know how the performance between a 4350 and a 6100 holds, however I can tell you that my R7 OC'd to 1125MHz core 1600MHz mem is bottlenecking my machine right now. Gpu usage goes to 100% way quicker in gaming than cpu will. But, that depends if you're gaming or not.
