Solution
FX-4300 + R7 360 will cost you $185 without rebates and $165 with rebates.

FX-4300 + GTX 950 (http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-video-card-02gp42956kr) will cost you $225.

Also, before you upgrade the CPU to FX-4300, make sure your motherboard's BIOS has the FX-4300 on its supported list (check the BIOS version CPU support on the manufacturer's website). If it is NOT on the supported list, you will need to update to the latest BIOS (you can look up guides and videos on how to do that with different motherboard brands).

Sure.

If your power supply has 2 6-pin connectors, you can get this card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202166&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker,%20LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

No i believe it doesn't so will it be a problem?and also if I upgrade only the GPU will I encounter any problems with this old professor?right now the fan makes noise when the prossesor is under load

If it is not a high quality PSU, it is recommended although I had some old Chinese PSU's live for 8+ years which is surprising.

If the system is stressed a lot, it is recommended. If the PSU is not crap, it will due silently without any fire or explosions and hopefully without taking any of other components with it.

Fan is supposed to spin faster and be louder when CPU is under load since it is generating more heat - common sense.

If you get GTX 950 now, you will not experience problems but you will definitely see serious bottlenecking.

really he should get a fx 6300 over a 4300 if his motherboard allows it. its a stronger cpu for the price and highly overclockable and he can later upgrade to a stronger card like a 960 or 970

for 170$ get a fx 6300 and a new gpu with a bit more money later like a 950 960 or 970

He is not overclocking on that motherboard, no. FX-6300 is also $20 more for a marginal performance return over the FX-4300 since most games use 4 or less cores. Every dollar counts, I guess.

VRM cooling is much to be desired on the M5A78L-M, so FX-6300 will just be putting more strain.
