Current Rig (2011 I believe).
2nd gen i5 -2500k
Radeon 6950
OS: Windows 10
Games: I currently play League of legends, Tera, Black Desert Online. 30-90 FPS on high settings. I currently have friends playing Archeage but I can't seem to get the cryengine to work on my computer. Since the only similar bug reports in the forums seem to be from 2015... I thinking this might be related to my hardware not supporting something on the archeage engine?
Anyways. I was debating waiting another year to rebuild the whole rig. Maybe when games support 4k monitors better. However, I noticed the GTX 960 could double my GPU benchmarks for $180. My question is will my CPU bottleneck it? and/or Will my CPU/motherboard architecture have compatibility issues if I try to strap a 5 year upgrade on an old horse (metaphor).
Input on GPU compatibility and estimated relative performance improvement would be appreciated.
Thanks.
