For the past 3 months i've had wierd experiences with my NVIDIA GeForce GT 610. I've had this card for arround 2 years and it has performed very nicely for me. However, as for december of last year, it began having some odd behavior. While playing certain 3d rendered games, often the graphics would jumble with one another and completely screw over until it crashed in a pixelated mess (Examples being games such as smite and distance). 2D games ran fine, until they too started crashing with wierd purple pixels arround before crashing the computer aswell.

I would've have assumed the card was broken, however it worked rather oddly. The card still functions but it is no longer recognized as a GPU with the NVIDIA control panel. Even though i could not play any sort of games, videos ran fine and during this state, it would never crash nor freeze the computer.

A few days back (sunday) the video card suddenly stared working like normal, notable 3d running games did not hitch in framerates and did not stutter. I downloaded a heat monitor to check for cases of overheating, and it showed signs of 85c° while playing games. (with the natural being average of 38-40c° room temperature, and 50c° on gpu while unused) Soon after a few hours, the computer crashed the same way once more and it is not recognized again, i have not tried to make it work again.

I have tried: Reinstalling drivers, deleting drivers with driver sweepers, formating pc, eliminating the device via device manager, and re-connecting the card into the PCI Express port. The problem persists

Is my video card broken? Is it still working? Perhaps i lack thermal paste?
Thanks

A new card right now is not an option i can take. I still cant get it to properly recognize, and the card is still functioning as i detailed above, does this have some sort of fix or repair?
