Both are excellent cards and it's really a toss up. The G1 Gaming "should" have better performance potential since the chips are binned in those models. EVGA is just a great manufacturer and has great customer support so it's really up to which you value most. Performance or customer service and warranty.

The G1 gaming supports better performance out of the box due to factory OCing.
The EVGA has much better support.

I personally would recommend you look at the MSI gaming 970 instead.
