Extremely low download speed, upload speed and very high ping.

I've been on Sky Unlimited for around a month now. The first 10 days was just as bad as my previous provider (EE), but for around 3 weeks after that, the connection was absolutely what I was expecting (consistent 8 to 10Mbps download speed, 1Mbps upload speed, relatively low ping around 60).

However, the past 2 weeks have been most definitely the worst service I've ever used, receiving download speeds as low as 0.2, upload speeds of 0.1 and pings of 800+ on numerous UK servers.

Watching YouTube at 480p (forget any modern standard like 720p!) is impossible. Video will constantly drop to 144p and will still need to buffer. Any online gaming is also impossible, with every game I get into on TF2 suffering pings of 900+.

I'll reiterate; I'm on Sky Unlimited. I shouldn't be getting throttled, yet I am. During the day, I can achieve DL speeds of around 3Mbps, but it is so inconsistent. I've tried talking to people on the Sky forums but the only real solution given was to phone Sky themselves, which is quite hard as I'm not the bill payer and they are quite busy. If any solution can be given it would be greatly appreciated.

P.s. it is worth mentioning my Downstream connection speed is just below 11Mbps.

There a around 5 devices connected, but I'm sure this is not the issue as, excluding my PC, all the devices are wireless, and I turned off the wireless to test whether it was the devices slowing me down but I got the exact same speeds.

The router is up to date also. I think I'm just going to upgrade to fiber via a different ISP in the near future.

The most common reason is a device is consuming all of the bandwidth. Do you have wifi enabled or anything? Have to checked to see how much bandwidth is going through your router? Most networks have more than one device.

make sure the guest networks are off so there no leachers. also make sure there a wep key or other password to keep non household people off. if a lot of people have jumped over to your new isp check with the router and wifi sticks make sure your not all on the same wifi channel causing cross talk. if there are a lot of you on one channel switxh the router to another. also make sure the router firmware up to date. log into the modem check the signal strenth and power level if there off contact isp to send a tech could be old splitters or bad wire.
