Hello, the headphone jack in my laptop is broke so I got a logitech usb to 3.5mm adapter and it works fine with my jvc headphones but when I try it with my bose noise cancelling headphones the sound quality is horrible. If I hold the answer button down on the cord then it sounds good but when i release the button it goes back to sounding horrible. Is the quality of the usb sound card the problem?

1| Can you please state your audio equipment inclusive of your laptop's make and model + the OS you're on?
2| You may also want to add the USB to analog adapter as it seems like a mish-mash between an adapter and/or a sound card.
3| There are a varying number of 3.5mm jacks int eh market with bands ranging between 2 and 4 on the jack alone as they need to cater a microphone as well as the earcups/drivers.

You can rule out that the soundcard/adapter isn't at fault by using a different set of headsets borrowing them from your friend/siblings and see if the issue is persistent. You may also want to scope out if you've gotten your drivers in...

You may also want to scope out if you've gotten your drivers in order for your sound device as you're not processing sound via the USB port and not the analog port.
