GPU Upgrade or a PS4?

Hey folks, This is regarding one of my old computers, The question is if I upgrade the GPU to GTX 970 how future proof will it be in terms of rest of the hardware being able to let me play all the upcoming games at FHD all Maxed Settings as compared to a PS4?


It is a i5 2400 setup on an ASUS H61 motherboard with 8gigs of Ram and and a GTX 560Ti.

Well a 970 is much more powerful than the GPU of the PS4. If you aren't interested in VR, I'd probably go for that as you are sticking to 1080p. I haven't used my PS4 much at all in the last year since I got it (other than streaming films), but that may well change when PSVR + Gran Turismo 6 comes out...

The GTX 970 outperforms the PS4's GPU.Your CPU will probably bottleneck the GPU in CPU intensive games but it will still be better then a locked 30fps and a resolution thats usually is lower than 1080p.
