So after cleaning the stock thermal past off of my kraken x61, which I had been using for a month or so I noticed a few scratches/grooves in the heat sink contact piece.

I cleaned the cooler using artic silvers thermal paste remover/purifier and a coffee filter and then a micro fiber cloth.

I am going to install the kraken In a brand new skylake system and am concerned wether or not the scratches will damage my brand new 6600k.

What are your opinions on this matter?
Could it damage the cpu?
Should I play it safe and exchange the kraken for a brand new unit?
Or will the thermal past fill in and compensate any imperfections on the heat sink?

It was a bit of a challenge to capture the scratches Ina photo but I can clearly feel the grooves when I run a qtip or cloth across them.

A few days later I came back to continue the work I have been doing and noticed these smudges on the cooler. I'm sure I'm overly cautious but this is my first build from scratch and don't want to ruin my brand new cpu because of some easily avoidable rookie mistake
