AMD Sabertooth 990FX PCIe slots Graphics and Sound Card compatability

I have a ASUS Sabertooth 990FX and a GTX 970 video card installed in the first PCIe x 16 expansion slot. The video card blocks the PCIe x1 slot in which I would like to install a high end sound card. I have read the manual a few times and it looks like I could move the video card to any of the other 4 PCIe x16 slots as this mobo supports SLI. I want to confirm with the community that I could move the video card to any of the other four and not harm my hardware so the PCIe x1 can be used. I particularly don't want to mod with a riser ribbon for the x1 if I don't have to. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!

You can put an x1 card in any PCIe lane. Just stick it in a free x16 lane.

^ Pretty much this. Though I do wish they would start making an extra wide form factor. Not ever sure E-ATX is wide enough. I'd personally like one wide enough that a two slot card doesnt block a pcie lane.
