I'm looking into buying a graphics card for my HP Pavilion h8-1234. I don't know anything about graphics cards. Would a XFX Radeon R9 380 be compatible with my computer? Would it be able to handle most games with minimal difficulty on medium settings?
Here is the graphics card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150730#close

This is my computer: http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Pavilion-HPE-h8-1200-Desktop-PC-series/5187019/document/c03359045/
I'm assuming those specs are the same as my current computer's as I bought it new and I haven't changed anything. I understand I need to upgrade my power supply too.

Sorry if this seems like a dumb question, but I really don't want to waste $200 because of something I didn't understand.

CPU is slightly weak but it will still be able to handle games in medium settings. Same goes for the r9 380, and it is your best call. The motherboard can hold it, but as you suspected you will need to upgrade the PSU as well, but it will work.
