So I have just got a power supply for my new PC. it has these awesome LED's for the fan too light stuff up, but I have one question. If I face the fan downwards, so it is pulling air from the bottom of the case, pushing it out the back (essentially its own air circuit), I can't see the LED's at all because they shine through the bottom. If I flip the power supply the other way, so that it is pulling air from the inside of the case and forcing it out of the back, the LED's light up my case and it looks great.

My question is this: Will flipping the power supply so that it pulls air from the inside cause any issues? Do you think it will overheat if it uses hot air from the case, or should it be okay?

Here is my parts list for reference:

Hard to say, it depends on the rest of your case airflow, it shouldn't be too bad if you have enough other fans, but also it may pull cool air from things that need it like your GPU. That said you're not an overclocker so you shouldn't be generating too much heat.

I realize how you worded your question you're trying to get around the fact that we HIGHLY recommend you toss that PSU in the trash, and as someone with a PSU expert tag on his profile you really should know better. Hey, its your funeral, good luck.

So I get you all think it is a bad power supply. This is my first computer s I guess I will see. I already opened it and everything, so I can't just return it saying I "think" it is bad and hope to get my money abck at this point. if it fails, I have a 2 year warranty. The reason I got it was because it was $25 after a rebate on Newegg. I went with it because it was cheap, and with 1300 reviews on Newegg, it still had 4 eggs. Most people said that it had lasted them 3+ years, which is good enough for me.

Well...you could listen to a collective several centuries worth of advice (and an actual video of those things actually exploding), or you could listen to the people on newegg reviews.

Will it explode tomorrow? No, probably not.
Will it explode next year? Maybe.
Will it explode when you add some new part next year? More likely.

We here have no agenda, other than trying to help you not waste money, or buying dangerous parts. Literally, thats it.
If you wish to disregard good advice...that's all on you.

That PSU may last years. It may die tomorrow.
But it looks cool with the LED's, and it was cheap (why is that?), so you might as well go for it, right?

Its going to be your first paperweight too with that thing. You just opened it. You tell them it IS bad and you want to exchange it for something else in store. I've done it 100 time with newegg and others. Its your opportunity right now to fix the problem. I read the newegg reviews, even the good ones said it crapped out in 3 or 4 years. There were more of those than the "lasted forever" ones.

Look at this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817207013&cm_re=xfx_ts_550-_-17-207-013-_-Product

If you can afford a $750 computer you can afford to power it properly, for literally 13 dollars more before rebate (or 38 after rebate which you'll get in 6 months in a gift card) you could have bought yourself a PSU that would last you many years and is infinitely better in every way.

Like I said, your funeral.....
