1600MHz RAM running @ 1333MHz

Hey there!

I've been looking all over the internet for a solution to my problem, but it seems to be rather unique to me.

So, I've been getting memory caused BSOD's (according to the error's) for years. After running Memtest on it I found there was definitely something wrong. I tried reseating it, didn't work. I singled out which one it was and then switched the two sticks I have, and so far that seems to have worked. I'm going to run another overnight memtest tonight to make sure, but it seems to be alright.

Now comes the issue.

After reviewing my RAM's performance, it turns out it's running at what I thought was 671, but what I now understand to be 1333Mhz. This is an issue as it should be able to run at 1600MHz.

Naturally I went into my BIOS and OC'd it to do just that, but Windows failed to boot as a result of it, and I'm completely lost.

It would make me so happy if I could get some help with this.

My specs:
OS: Windows 10 Insider Build 11082
CPU: AMD FX 6300
Motherboard: GA-990FXA-UD3
GPU: GTX 770 (2GB)
RAM: 8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 671MHz (9-9-9-24) (C+P from Speccy, can provide brand if needed)

This is especially problematic as I game a lot, and in more memory demanding games like Rust I find my entire PC crashing at really bad times. That may have been fixed with recent changes, but I would like my computer running as best as it possibly can regardless.

Thank you sooooo much!

Games/programs shouldn't crash due to memory speed, this rather indicates a other problem with the system or the game/program. You need to check the specs for the RAM to see the settings it needs for running at 1600MHz. You will propably need to increase the RAM voltage from 1.5V to 1.6V or 1.65V, this is normal for RAM running at over the default spec (1333MHz). You will also need to set the timings correctly, these should be listed on the memory manufacturers specs. If you could give the specific details of the memory modules (brand, product number/model etc).
