Z170 broken lan port

My z170 deluxe have 2 lan ports. The upper one works fine but the lower one can't be connected. When I connect cable to it, the light blink normally but the window didn't see it.

are both ports operating from the same controller chip, or do thy use a separate controller and driver?

The two ports are different, One being Intel® I219V from 2015 and the other being I211-AT from 2012, so they need different drivers to run.

Easiest way is to read the manual, but you must have both drivers installed for both to work. Go to devices and check which one you have installed. Use the newer one obviously.

Will tell you.

But you would think every time you boot you would get a found new hardware dialog if it is a driver missing.
One way to check might be to reboot with the network cable in the nonresponsive port

I did try install the missing driver before posting this question and for some reason it froze my PC.
