Broken Ethernet WiFi Extender

Right, so in order to connect my PC to my WiFi I use these netgear WiFi extenders which connect via Ethernet cable. I have one that connects to my PC and one which connects to the router.
I've been using them for well over a year now and they have suddenly stopped working. I have tried replacing the cables and swapping the extenders around to no avail.
When I troubleshoot it, it says I am missing one or more protocols. I presume it may be a driver issue?
Finally, the extenders have three little lights on them. One is for power, the second one lights up when the Ethernet is connected and third is the one which hasn't been lighting up recently, or when it does it's a red light.
I have no idea what to do, so some help would be great.

First try letting the troubleshooter fix the problem.

If that fails, re-install the drivers.

Are you running Windows 10? Check the Event Viewer logs and Performance Monitor screens for errors. Use Win + R to execute "perfmon /rel" (without quotes) and look for red circles with white "x"s. Look at the details to see if more specific information is available. An error code perhaps.

Look at the router's logs as well. Need to identify the device or configuration issue at fault.
