So I recently bought two Gigabyte 980 ti's and I noticed that the top card is at least 10 degrees hotter so I was thinking about water cooling. I have a corsair aio for my cpu but that's all I know about water cooling. was wondering if someone would give me a list of things I need or what I should do.
Here are my specs:
GPU-2x 980ti's
CPU-i7-4790k
Case-Corsair Air 540
RAM-32GB of Corsair Vengeance
MB-Asus Z97-A
Let me know if you need any more information.

The top card in my SLI 970 system runs hotter too. This is completely normal because heat rises. In addition to your top 980 Ti having to deal with its own heat output it also has to deal with heat coming off the bottom 980 Ti and rising up to it.

For me this isn't a major problem. My top 970 maxes out at around 75 or 76 degrees Celsius when under full load while gaming for a few hours. The bottom card under the same amount of load will max out around 70 degrees Celsius and the average fan RPMs will be lower. You can check all these stats with a program like HWInfo. Just leave it running while you play a game that stresses your system.

As long as both cards stay under 80 degrees under load I wouldn't worry about it too much. The...

You could just get an NZXT G10 bracket, then buy an AIO CPU cooler and attach it to your GPU via that bracket.

It works pretty well, though I've heard of some people complaining that it bends their card.

Good alternative to a full-blown loop.

Is that a similar solution to the Corsair HG10 N980? Also since the bottom card is at normal temps should I just get the one for the top or both?
Thank you for answering btw.

Can you specify the temps? Is the temperature of the card taken while using it or is it idle? Lastly, are your monitors hooked up to the top card?

If you are passing 80 degrees you could try setting up a custom fan curve for the top card. It will run louder while under load but it might keep your temperatures in check without having to invest in a water cooled setup.
